Richard Carson at Maggie's Valley NC

As soon as I was old enough to drive, Luigia and I would take off in October to go to North Carolina and view the colorful scenery of red, orange, and yellow leaves. Alfred didn't care to make the trip so he stayed behind while mom and I meandered around Maggie's Valley and journeyed through the winding mountain roads to Cherokee, NC...a true tourist trap. Along the way, we'd stop so mom could buy her mandatory box of North Carolina grown apples.
